one minute
before the
world changed

A minute before the destruction of the earth.
They didn't know. They didn't know that was the last moment of calm

"You are now in the world, one minute before the end."

The sunlight spills through the windows, the coffee is warm, and people rush not to be late. Just another ordinary day, wrapped in familiar comfort.

"Everything was normal. No one knew."

The news was the same as yesterday, the sky was still blue, and people began their day with a yawn. Catastrophe always arrives without an announcement.

"Tick, tick, tick — the second hand quietly moved closer."

A sound no one noticed, but always there. Steadily, faithfully, the clock moved toward the edge of the world.

"Collapse always begins in calm."

Cracks were forming, silently. Even 60 seconds before the end, the world we loved smiled as if nothing was wrong. At this very moment, everything still seems peaceful.

But this is the peace that comes just before the end.

Library - The Whisper of the Quiet Bookshelves

Bookshelves were perfectly arranged, and the air lay still.

Only the sunlight spilling through the window softly lit the room, as if time itself had paused. Ink smudges glittered on a single sheet wedged between the pages, and on the dust-laden desk lay a well-used pen, abandoned mid-thought.

Someone was preparing for an exam, and someone was dreaming.

On one side of the desk, a stack of textbooks bore densely penciled formulas and key points, while a small radio beside them murmured a quiet classical melody. On the cushions across the bed, travel snapshots and handwritten letters lay scattered. Some plotted their success, some yearned for freedom—each sketching tomorrow in the calm of an ordinary day.

In that order, which seemed too perfect ever to vanish, no one sensed the tide of unease.

The ticking of the wall clock seemed poised to break the silence, yet the sound never returned. The school bell down the hallway, the hum of engines on the street—every sound held its breath.

A single book trembled. Just once.

The bookshelf door creaked closed, sending a few loose pages fluttering to the floor. Only then did ripples stir in the long-dormant space.

That day, the sea was peaceful.
Sunlight shimmered over the waves, and the tide breathed in quiet rhythm. The salty air was warm, and a gentle mist blurred the horizon. The world looked as if nothing could ever go wrong.
The child built a castle on the shore,
and the sand didn't seem like it could ever break.
With tiny, diligent hands, the child shaped towers and walls, wet sand packed firm beneath fingertips. The waves crept close now and then, but the child didn't mind. To them, the castle was a promise — a whole world held in place by imagination and play.
The sky was blue, and the wind
was full of mischief.
Clouds drifted like cotton, and the breeze tousled the child's hair. Seagulls cried above, and the waves hummed like a lullaby. It was a moment untouched by noise, fear, or shadow — perfectly whole.
But beyond the horizon,
a massive wave was rising.
No one saw it coming. Far away, the wind had shifted, and something deep within the sea had begun to stir. The wave grew, silently, steadily, moving ever closer beneath the illusion of calm.
The sandcastle said nothing,
even at the end.
It held its place, even as it knew it would fall. No cries, no resistance — only quiet collapse beneath the breath of the sea.

RESTAURANT -
FAMILY
PHOTO

THE DINNER TABLE WAS FILLED WITH THE SOUND OF SIZZLING MEAT AND LAUGHTER. DAD CRACKED A JOKE, AND THE CHILD SPILLED THEIR COLA, LAUGHING. MOM SET THE TIMER, AND THE FAMILY NATURALLY TURNED THEIR FACES TOWARD THE CAMERA. CLICK—A FLEETING MOMENT OF JOY WAS CAPTURED IN A PHOTO. IT WAS JUST AN ORDINARY DAY. A FAMILIAR EVENING, FAMILIAR SMILES. BUT RIGHT AFTER, THE LIGHTS IN THE HOUSE BEGAN TO FLICKER. THE SLIGHT TREMOR SPREAD LIKE A WARNING, AND THE LAUGHTER FADED. THAT PHOTO BECAME THE LAST IMAGE THEY EVER TOOK TOGETHER. ONLY THAT PEACEFUL MOMENT REMAINED—A MEMORY JUST BEFORE THE WORLD BEGAN TO SHAKE. AND THEIR SMILES STAYED FROZEN IN TIME. NO ONE KNEW THAT MOMENT WOULD BE THEIR LAST.

APARTMENT CALM OUTSIDE THE WINDOW

IT WAS AN ORDINARY EVENING. THE SKY OUTSIDE THE WINDOW WAS CLEAR AND DISTANT, SPOTLESS IN ITS SERENITY—YET NO ONE NOTICED. ON THE MUTED TELEVISION, THE NEWS PLAYED SILENTLY. THE CHILD SAT HUNCHED OVER, COMPLETELY IMMERSED IN THEIR GAME. IN THE KITCHEN, THE SCENT OF FRIED RICE LINGERED IN THE AIR, AND THE SOUND OF DISHWATER FORMED A STEADY RHYTHM. EVERYTHING FELT NORMAL, AND THAT SENSE OF NORMALCY WAS UNSHAKABLE.

EVERYONE'S GAZE REMAINED LOW, ANCHORED IN THEIR ROUTINES. NOT A SINGLE PERSON THOUGHT TO LIFT THEIR HEAD AND LOOK UP AT THE SKY. THE SKY, HOWEVER, QUIETLY BORE A SIGN—AN OMEN—UNFOLDING BEYOND THEIR AWARENESS. AND WITHOUT WARNING, IT DREW A LINE THROUGH THE QUIET EVENING.

A SINGLE BEAM OF LIGHT TORE THROUGH THE SKY AND CAME CRASHING DOWN. ONLY THEN DID WE UNDERSTAND: THE SKY, WHICH WE HAD FAILED TO LOOK AT, HAD CHANGED FIRST.
